Every task you tackle comes with a bill. The only question is: who are you paying? If you hire someone to clean your house or design your website, you’re paying them at their rate. But when you choose to do it yourself, you’re paying an even steeper price—your time, your expertise, and the opportunities you could have pursued instead.

Think of it this way: if your time is worth $50 an hour and you’re spending three hours doing a $15-an-hour task, you’re effectively losing $105. Sounds absurd, right? Yet, so many of us fall into this trap daily.

Why? Maybe it’s pride, maybe it’s control, or maybe we just don’t run the numbers. The truth is, knowing the value of your time is like holding a compass—it directs you toward better decisions. So, the next time you face a task, ask yourself: is this worth my time, or should I invest in someone else’s?
