Rewriting the Stories You Live By
The only limits you have are the stories you’ve accepted as truth
37 days left in the quarter.
Difference of the Day #249
Your sense of what’s possible for you isn’t carved in stone—it’s a patchwork quilt sewn together with childhood experiences. Think about it: the things you believe about yourself today? They started as whispers you absorbed when you were barely old enough to question them.
Maybe someone praised your knack for drawing, and now you see yourself as creative. Or maybe you were told you’d never be good at math, and guess what? You’ve avoided numbers like the plague ever since.
Here’s the twist: those beliefs aren’t facts—they’re stories. And like any story, they can be rewritten.
Next time you catch yourself saying, “I’m just not that kind of person,” ask, “Is that true? Or is it a hand-me-down belief I never challenged?” Rewriting your narrative isn’t easy, but it’s liberating. After all, the only limits you have are the ones you’ve accepted.
Today, Make A Difference.
