The Life Operating System
Navigating the Third Quarter and Beyond
91 days left in the quarter.
Difference of the Day #103
Today is the first day of the third quarter of the year. If you have been paying attention, each article begins by indicating how many days are left until the end of the current quarter. This is because in structuring our operating system, we use the concept of the year in 12 weeks. I will give you all the information you need on this as we progress, but if you want to go deeper, read the book: The 12 Week Year."
Yesterday, I introduced you to the concept of the Life Operating System, a framework designed to help you live a balanced, fulfilling, and ever-evolving life. Just as a computer functions because of its operating system, our lives can also be optimized through principles and practices that guide us in every aspect of our being.
The Life Operating System is nothing more than a framework built to put into practice the best knowledge available about health, wellness, work and career, relationships, finances, personal growth, and so on. This system was born out of my need to improve myself.
We all have goals and desires, good intentions and aspirations. But often, our daily behavior does not reflect the goodness of our intentions. For this reason, I decided to create a Life Operating System that would evolve with the individual's life.
This is the quarter of paradoxes. On the one hand, it is the quarter of relaxation, vacation, and summer. On the other hand, it can become the quarter of abandonment, where we drop our challenges, good intentions, and dreams. I hope you enjoy the well-deserved vacation this third quarter, but remember your climb toward your goals.
For many, the third quarter is the quarter of giving up. Instead, we will turn it into a quarter of regeneration and perseverance. Of course, it's okay to take our time to recharge, but it's crucial not to give up altogether.
The truth is that every one likes new beginnings. Every new beginning gives us the illusion that everything will finally be ideal, free of mistakes and falls. But real change feeds on the ability to start again: after a bad day, after a fall, after a defeat, after a mistake, after a disappointment, after a loss. Put aside the search for the perfect beginning and simply choose to begin again, accepting your mistakes and flaws. You do not become unstoppable when you never fall, but when you pick yourself up with each fall.
We are the ones who write the code of our Life Operating System.
Today, start fantasizing about what you want to accomplish between now and Sunday, September 29 (the end of our third quarter).
Daydream with open eyes and try to regain enthusiasm for your goals. All the techniques of effectiveness and personal growth are completely useless if our lives turn into a gray sequence of tasks to be completed.
Happy new 12-week year!
Today, Make A Difference.
